The sun shines brightly over a worn-out basketball court. A group of tall, athletic boys practice their shots. Among them is GAUTAM (16, 5'6"), a determined but overlooked player. He dribbles the ball, trying to keep up with the others.


NARRATOR (V.O.)

(softly)

In a world where height is king, Gautam is a knight without armor.


INT. LOCKER ROOM - DAY


Gautam sits alone, lacing up his sneakers. His best friend, ADITYA (16, 6'2"), enters, tossing a basketball in the air.


ADITYA 

Hey, man! You ready for tryouts?


GAUTAM 

(looking down)

Yeah, I guess.


ADITYA 

You guess? Come on, you’ve been practicing all summer!


GAUTAM 

(sighs)

It’s just... I’m not like them.


Aditya sits beside him, serious.


ADITYA 

You’ve got heart, Gautu That counts for something.


EXT. HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL COURT - TRYOUTS - DAY


The gym is packed with players and spectators. Coaches watch intently. Gautam stands at the edge, nervous. The whistle blows, and the players scramble onto the court.


COACH

Alright, let’s see what you’ve got!


Gautam takes a deep breath and joins the others. He struggles to keep up, getting blocked and pushed around. He misses a few shots, frustration building.


MONTAGE: GAUTAM STRUGGLE


Gautam practicing alone at the court, shooting hoops, and running drills.

Gautam watching videos of famous short players like Rahul and Deepak, taking notes.

Gautam getting knocked down during a pickup game, getting back up with determination.

INT. LOCKER ROOM - AFTER TRYOUTS - DAY


Gautam sits on a bench, head in hands. Aditya approaches, concerned.


ADITYA 

Did you make it?


GAUTAM 

(shakes head)

No. They said I’m too small.


Aditya sits beside him, trying to comfort him.


ADITYA 

You can’t give up, man. You’ve got skills.


GAUTAM 

(sighs)

Skills don’t matter if you can’t reach the rim.


EXT. BASKETBALL COURT - NIGHT


Gautam practices alone under the dim lights. He takes a deep breath, visualizing the basket. He runs, jumps, and makes a perfect shot. He smiles, feeling a spark of hope.


INT. SCHOOL GYM - GAME NIGHT - DAY


The gym is packed for the championship game. Gautam watches from the sidelines, his heart heavy. The team is struggling against a much taller opponent.


COACH

(looking at the bench)

We need someone to shake things up.


Gautam stands up, heart racing.


GAUTAM 

(voice shaking)

Coach, let me in!


The coach hesitates but nods. Gautam runs onto the court, adrenaline pumping.


EXT. BASKETBALL COURT - GAME - MOMENTS LATER


Gautam plays with fierce determination. He dodges taller players, making quick passes and surprising shots. The crowd starts to notice him.


NARRATOR (V.O.)

Sometimes, it’s not about the height of the player, but the height of their heart.


In a crucial moment, Gautam steals the ball and drives to the basket. He jumps, reaching higher than ever before, and scores.


INT. LOCKER ROOM - POST-GAME - NIGHT


The team celebrates their victory. Gautam is surrounded by teammates, who lift him up in joy.


ADITYA 

You did it, man! You showed them!


GAUTAM smiles, feeling accepted for the first time.


GAUTAM 

I guess it’s not about how tall you are, but how high you can reach.

In the game of life, it’s not the size of the player that matters, but the size of their dreams.
